It's snowing

That is all. I have nothing good to update.

It's snowing and everyone around me only knows how to talk about, tweet, comment about is snow.

So, obviously, I'm going to share it with you all.

We're expected to get up to 12 inches tonight. I've never had 12 inches before.

::inserts juvenile "That's what she said joke::

Seriously though, all is well with me. I have a UTI, but otherwise trucking right along in pregnancy land.

Happy and sad at the same time.

How is it possible to feel happy and sad at one time?

As I sit here at my 911 desk and answer call after call, speak to my officers via radio and clickity clack away on my keyboard, my little tiny human is having a gymnastics party inside.

I can feel arms and legs ALL OVER my stomach. It's so weird that one minute he's punching away on one side and then BAM the other side gets kneed. I wish I could explain how it feels. Some movements are painful but the great majority are like bubbles or gas. The rolling over or changing of positions are what hurt the most. In one of my many trips to the bathroom last night, he moved to the left and you could see how lopsided my belly was. Standing up straight took physical effort and when I laid back down, he settled back into his original transverse position and proceeded to kick for another 30 minutes. I think he was pissed because I had gotten up and stretched out some in an effort to straighten his little butt back into a comfortable position.

At my next OB appointment, I'm going to ask about his position and find out when they will start checking for breach or head down.

Anyways, I got sidetracked. As I'm sitting at work enjoying his little antics, I realize that this happy time will end soon. As much as I'm looking forward to meeting my son, I am honestly going to miss these moments when little man is all mine. I'm the only one who can feel him and hold him right now. It makes me sad that the pregnancy is going so fast and will end soon. Even though I've had some rough times, I've enjoyed it for the most part. (Remind me of this statement in 10 weeks when I'm swollen and uncomfortable all the time.)

Until then I'm going to watch my belly bounce a little while longer and imagine what the little guy is doing inside.

Hello Third Trimester! Week 27 is done!

Happy Third Trimester!!!

My mornings: I still hate mornings. This is never going to change.

My nights: I bought a new body pillow which has helped some with hip pain overnight.

How far along: 27 weeks, 7 days. The 3rd and final trimester is officially here tomorrow.

How big is baby: Baby He-Man is 14.5 inches and over 2 pounds. I can't believe he is already that big. It seems like yesterday that I was blogging about him being measured ONLY in ounces.

Weight:
Starting weight: 130
Total weight gain: 25
This week: 155

How I’m changing: My belly seems to have grown a little more this week. I feel like it has stretched upward which is making breathing a little more difficult. I think I read somewhere that this is the time for another good growth spurt so I'm expecting for the belly to really start expanding. From my perspective, I feel like the belly is growing up and to the sides more than out front, so it's feeling a lot rounder but not sticking out any further. But then when I compare photos from a couple weeks ago, I can really tell a difference.

What I miss: Warm weather.

Symptoms: Headaches. Gas. Heartburn. Constant peeing.

Cravings: Nothing out of the ordinary, but I did send an officer for doughnuts last week. I don't really get intense cravings, but the joy I get from eating food is insane. Food tastes so much better now.

Food Aversions: Nothing.

Highlights this week: It's been a big week for things getting done. I ordered some baby legs for FREE plus the cost of shipping plus our Pack n Play was delivered on Wednesday. DH is finished with painting the nursery and we had the crib delivered and set up yesterday. Let me rephrase that. I was working while DH set up the crib. :)

On Thursday, I went to Target and finished registering. I did my other registries completely online and I had no idea that registering in person could be so much fun. I went by myself since DH was working and it was nice to walk around just clicking on everything. CLICK ALL THE THINGS!!!!

Maternity clothes: Yep. Couldn't live without them.

Stretch marks: I have them on both butt cheeks but none on my belly or thighs.

Sleep: I wish. That's all.

Movement: I feel him all the time. Apple juice and orange juice really wake him up and get him bouncing. I think he is still partially transverse. I can feel him kicking on my upper left side and punching on my lower right side. I am only guessing that he is sort of head down. I could be completely wrong about this. It seems like the movement on my left side is stronger and more distinct which I imagine is his legs. Plus, I feel a rolling sensation in the lower area which I imagine is his head moving. When he's really active, I love to sit and watch my belly move. I haven't seen a body part stick out yet like some people have told me to expect but when I see movement, it's like my stomach is having a seizure.

Gender: We're Team He-Man!!

Labor signs: I think I am getting a few Braxton Hicks, but nothing bad yet.

Belly button: I am getting very close to almost an outie. Last night, after a day of eating, my belly was pretty big and my belly button was almost completely even with my stomach. Now, this morning, it's sunk back in.

What I am looking forward to: I am looking forward to the final stretch. My showers are being planned and it's exciting to see how people are looking forward to having another baby around.

Milestones: I am so happy the crib is set up. It's starting to look a lot more like a nursery.

At least he's thinking. Sort of.

I get irrationally mad when someone eats my leftovers. That someone will remain nameless but I've been married to him for 9 years and he sleeps close enough to where I could smother him for his actions.

Anyways, he knows I hate this. He randomly takes one piece of chicken or shrimp or a bite here or there of my leftovers.

I should know better than to leave a Krispy Kreme raspberry filled doughnut in  wrapped up in the microwave so I can eat in the next morning. I really should. After all this time, how do I not know better?

But then again, I know he loves KK doughnuts more than anything. It's his weakness.

I guess I should be glad he at least left half for me. Right?

In his defense, he said Bella somehow stood 6 feet tall, turned her paws into hands, opened the microwave and ate half of my doughnut and then carefully placed it back in the microwave.

Lookie what is getting painted!

BEFORE

AFTER

It looks darker in person and with actual light in the room but I'm loving the dark gray color! DH is still working on the rest of the room and trim, but it's looking awesome so far!

Week 26. Glucose Tolerance Test DONE!

My mornings: It's so nice not having to wake up at 4 a.m. except for the waking up every other hour nonsense.

My nights: I used to be more awake at night but now I am getting more and more tired right after work.
How far along: 26 weeks, 4 days

How big is baby: Baby He-Man is 14 inches and weighs over 1.75 pounds, according to some web sources. I would love to have another US to know how big or small he is measuring. He was measuring ahead at my last US and it would be comforting to know that he was bigger than average at this point in the pregnancy. Of course, then I would want him to be smaller when it comes closer to delivery.
Weight:
Starting weight: 130
Total weight gain: 23 ... same as last week.
This week: 153

How I’m changing: My boobs are still leaking a little bit with a few drops of blood every day. It's not much, but at night my shirts are soaked on the front from the leakage.

What I miss: Warm weather.
Symptoms: Headaches. Gas. Heartburn. Constant peeing. And for the past couple days I've had heartburn/spontaneous vomiting because of burping. Yum. Luckily, Tums in fruit flavors are kinda good and take care of it so far.

Cravings: I'm craving a Firehouse salad again. Mmmmm....

Food Aversions: Nothing.

Highlights this week: Today was my doctor's appointment and test for gestational diabetes. OB said they would only call me back if I failed the test. So far I haven't heard anything. Sidenote: I am eating a cupcake.
The drink itself wasn't that bad. It tasted like a flat, really sugary soda. But whoooooboy, does it make you feel like you've drunk about 10 times too much sugar. I instantly felt sick, but nothing to the point of vomiting. But I did get some sweats for a little while. The baby was ALL OVER THE PLACE. Once she took my blood, I said "Don't I get a cookie or something?" Apparently not. They really should have snacks for women after this test. I may make that suggestion.

Maternity clothes: Yep. Love them.

Stretch marks: I have them on my butt cheeks. I keep lotion slathered on my belly because it itches all the time so maybe that will help, even though I know it's all genetics and those lotions are crap. However, they do help make the belly feel better.

Sleep: I wish it was better, and really wish my hips didn't hurt so bad.

Movement: He is making my whole belly move more lately. If I drink OJ or apple juice, it's like a dance party in there!

Gender: We're Team He-Man!!
Labor signs: I think I am getting a few Braxton Hicks, but nothing bad yet.

Belly button: I will still be an innie for a while, but I can tell that it's changing.

What I am looking forward to: I am looking forward to maybe getting more work done on the nursery this weekend. I want to paint and get the crib in.

Milestones: I am almost to the 3rd trimester! I think it starts at the end of week 27. Sooooo close.

FYI: I have no idea why the font is being weird in this post. I will try to fix that later.

Hodge podge of random stuff.

I added some A&A swaddle blankets to my Amazon registry.

It's a four pack for only $2,250.

Totally worth it, right?

Me thinks there may be a glitch or scam in there somewhere. But oddly, I like having it on my registry so they're staying.

We took the dogs to the dog park on Monday for some energy burning.

Minnie just barks at everyone, every leaf, every dog. I suspect she is professing her love with every bark. DH can't stand it but I love that it wears her out and she doesn't bark for days.

Bella's new friend has pretty eyes.

And this is why the dog park is worth every single penny.

My diaper bag has been delivered!!!!

It's a Petunia Pickle Bottom and I love it. The print style was being discontinued and it was clearanced so I couldn't pass up a good savings.
