Is there an elephant in my chest? Also, RE appt news.

I have a lady-sized man cold.

Maybe it's a man-sized man cold? No wait. If it was man sized then that would mean my cold is smaller than my exaggerated large super human summer cold. My 10-inch cold would be a 1-inch sneeze.

I've been in denial for two days that my inability to breath is only caused by allergies. Combine that with a sore ear and the fact that my chest is carrying around an elephant inside of it and I finally conceded: I have a cold.

Onto the less important stuff that you all stalk me for ...

Today was my appt with Dr A to discuss injectables. Lo and behold I got called into work. My supervisor was willing to let me take my 1-hour lunch to drive 20 minutes to the office, hurry through the meeting and then rush back in 20 minutes. The problem with that option was that I spent 30 minutes in the waiting room while the staff was in the hallway deciding lunch. I finally got hateful and said, "I'm already late. I was supposed to meet at 11:15."

I think because I was on the verge of angry tears, the secretary felt sorry for me and ran back to tell Dr A.

I'm still numb from all the information and I haven't processed it yet to make a decision. But here's my options.

1. Follistim AQ 600 IU, Menopur, Bravelle, and progesterone plus IUI.

Total cost is anywhere from $1,200-1,400, which includes the IUI cost, monitoring and bloodwork.

2. Femara 2.5 mg, Follistim AQ 300 IU, Bravelle, Menopur and progesterone.

That cost could be about $750ish.

We are OOP so we've got a lot to consider. I've emailed the OOP meds donation group with TB to check for availability.

Dr. A thinks because I am small that I shouldn't have any trouble responding to the injects and in all honesty I am leaning towards option 2. I would be happy with twins (read scared and terrified but happy) but higher order multiples and OHSS frightens the crap outta me. Of course Dr A will monitor me and avoid OHSS and cancel the cycle if needed.

DH and I haven't discussed it at length yet or made a decision, but we still have two weeks to make up our minds. Thoughts and advice would be appreciated!

WET'S GO MUDDER!!

Someone is excited about our first run.

She may or may have not been pissed that I left all my running gear at my parents house for a few days.

Me and the pup are hitting the trail!

Stalker update of my uterus

Just a quick update for my stalkers...

Tomorrow is my What The Fluck meeting with Dr A. We're going to talk about injects and the next two IUIs. I've already told Wonder Woman Mary that we probably won't be able to afford IVF but I need to tell this to Dr A and see if this changes his treatment ideas for upcoming IUIs.

DH wants to continue trying naturally for a while if the IUIs don't work. He still has hope that we have a good shot this way. I can't explain percentages and what's keeping us from getting pregnant in a way that changes his mind, so we're still up in the air about what will be next.

If we can work out the money for injects and IUI, then I want to do that next month. DH says he will do what the RE recommends but I know he would rather do this without intervention. Today is O day so at least he can do this month naturally, if that makes him feel better.

There's several other things I want to blog about but right now I just got back from taking the dog to the vet. I will try to get these things up soon.

Crafty time!

I'm at my parents house for the weekend getting ready for my Nanny's surprise 80th birthday party tomorrow.

I'm so excited for our gift for her. Let's be clear, this was totally my idea (that I stole off Pinterest.) Now that we've settled on how awesome of a granddaughter I am, I must give credit to the rest of the family for helping out. A little. The rest is ALL ME.

I kid. I kid.

The idea came from here.

Ours is going to be in scrapbook form instead of letters. I will let y'all know how it turns out!

I celebrated. Did you?

Today was National Running Day!

I jogged/walked for my week 2/day 1 session for 2.42 miles. Today was my best time yet at 8:30 per mile jogging and 14:38 walking time. I'm only in week two which is the 2:00 walking and 1:30 jogging sessions.

Except for some hip and leg cramps, I'm feeling good. I love the soreness after a workout and the "my legs feel like noodles" afterglow. I don't know why my hips and legs are cramping, but that has been a constant pain for two days. I even took yesterday off as my planned day to jog so I could rest my legs. It doesn't feel like soreness. I am 99% positive it is related to my work chairs. Sitting for 12 hours is not good on your body. Today I got up and dispatched standing up for periods of time to get off my butt. And I think it helped because my legs weren't as achy this afternoon.

I hope my other running buddies were able to get a run in today.

I noticed a lot of tweets today about it aptly tagged with #irunbecause and mine was #irunbecause I am trying to run away from my problems.

Happy running! I hope you all got to escape to a wooded wonderland like me!

How did I...

How did I ever clean my messes before I had dogs?

The pups were quite pleased that I spilled the food ... obviously.

Run Forrest. Run.

I'm back on my running feet again.

The last time I ran for exercise was almost two years ago. Several weeks into through training the Couch to 5K program, I suffered a stress fracture on my right foot. I quit running and it took months for my foot to heal. Who would have thought that a tiny fracture could hurt for so long?

Fast forward to now and I wanted to get back on my feet. Thanks to geniuses on TB, I learned that I needed better shoes and they suggested a professional shoe fitting.

The price tag was a chunk to swallow but DH was nice enough to fork over the cash for a new pair of Brooks shoes.

I can't preach to you enough about how big of a difference these shoes have made. I'm back on the C25K program and as soon as I finish this blog post, me and the big furball are going to complete the first week of the program.

Since the last time I ran, they have created a C25K app which logs your distance based on GPS, time, and speed, all while provided voice prompts of each day's workout.

Here's the overall program breakdown. Just like any new workout, the first day was the worst. It burned and I was sore like a beat horse the next day.
